I don't think you can buy an atom cpu by itself? And, yes the Intel Atom D510 is a 64 bit cpu which you can confirm at Intel's web site:

http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43098

It is running my Vail beta right now which requires 64 bit so I know it works.

I re-used my Shuttle case because I already had it and didn't want to spend any extra money ;)

Practically any case will work so it's up to you. Good luck.

-CBChrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09845881780581316783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3727995.post-18292249347344561332010-05-25T22:13:03.685-04:002010-05-25T22:13:03.685-04:00thanks for the quick response. Also would you recommend sticking with the K45 or getting a Rosewill mini tower?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.391763Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07322219578190876040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3727995.post-58010841184894833582010-05-25T10:49:59.053-04:002010-05-25T10:49:59.053-04:00Sorry not on Twitter.

Vail requires a 64 bit processor which so I made sure to confirm that the atom chip I chose was compatible. After the beta, I will buy a couple of 2gb drives and mount them internally and I'll have a very nice WHS 2 server that uses little power and can store all my music and computer backups. The mini-itx motherboard install in the shuttle case was a breeze.

-CBChrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09845881780581316783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3727995.post-51156417479737446572010-05-25T10:44:33.474-04:002010-05-25T10:44:33.474-04:00I am very curious about your Vail updates.
